Getting to know your new Director:
Some of you already know me, as although it was a long time ago I have performed with Dereham Operatic Society and helped behind the bar as well. My first show with you was 'Camelot', I think I then played Bella in 'Robert and Elizabeth' and then was principal boy in 'Aladdin' and 'Dick Whittington'. Most of my shows though have been with Cromer Operatic Society as that is where I met my partner Andrew.
Shows I have directed include 'My fair Lady', 'Singin In the Rain', 'Half a Sixpence' and more but the three I have named are ones where Carole Beatty (our choreographer) and I have worked together and produced what I think are some great scenes and routines (even if I say so myself!).
Like you I am an amateur so I have a full time job and shows are my hobby. For me rehearsals need to be fun though I will work you hard and I do get a bit strict as we get nearer the show. If you really want to know what I am like then you could ask Katie and Paul Woodhouse or Nick Bird as they have all worked with me before or perhaps just come along and find out for yourself.
Me And My Girl is one of my all time favourite shows so I was thrilled to be asked to direct. I am currently working on what I hope will be a stunning opening to the show (well it is stunning in my head!) so fingers crossed. I hope to see as many of you as possible at the read through.
I am thrilled to be joining you all for this show and look forward to meeting you at the read through on the 1st of May.
Auditions are Sunday the 19th May starting at 10am and more details will be available at the Read Through.

A word about the Show:
For those of you who don’t know the show, Me And My Girl is about an unrefined cockney, Bill Snibson, who learns that he is the new Earl of Hareford. The Duchess sets about trying to refine and educate Bill and split him up from his longtime sweetheart, Sally. The ending is predictable as love conquers all but there are plenty of laughs along the way. The show is filled with some fabulous numbers which include 'The Sun Has Got His Hat On', 'Lambeth Walk', 'Leaning On A Lampost', 'Once You Lose Your Heart' and, of course, the title song 'Me And My Girl'.
